It actually turned out better that way, in a sense... making the outlines dark gray gave them a semi-etherial look, like they're not really there...

I entered this one in SNK's second SNK Vs. Capcom illustration contest... even though I'd started on it for the first one. I didn't get as many characters in as I wanted to, as I managed to catch the flu during the final week of the contest, and had to force myself to finish it in time. That's also the original reason why the characters who aren't actually playing card don't have shading...
