TAP-OUT
11/05/02
Pencilled and inked while waiting in line for and during the BotCon '02 dinner party. People have suggested that I should have drawn his keychain in there to, with him using it as a weapon. Yeah, thanks for suggesting it after I inked it. I hate you all.
BEAST MACHINES: TWILIGHT
11/05/02
I like this one. The Maximals didn't turn out quite as dark as I'd hoped, but still. For me the highlight of the picture is the Vehicon Generals. I busted my butt trying to get this done before BotCon, did it in record time which led to a screwup here and there, but overall... much happy.
Prints avilable!
SURESHOCK, ALEXIS & LASERBEAK
11/05/02
I'm trying to remember what brought this on. I think I just felt like doing some Mini-Con artwork, especially Sureshock. Adding Alexis and Laserbeak was kind of an afterthought. Beep beep beep.
ACTION MASTER BUMBLEBEE
11/05/02
I really don't do too many pencil sketches anymore. Usually by the time they begin resembling anything like a decent picture, I get the urge to ink them. For some reason, not this one. The sketchiness works. Um, yeah. It's Bumblebee. As an Action Master. Woot.
ELECTRO
11/05/02
Laser Rod. A vintage truck that turns into a laser-sword-weilding alien robot. How can this NOT be completely f#%&ing cool? I ask you. Tell me it isn't. I'll laugh at you. "Ha ha," will be my reply.
ZOMBIE!
11/05/02
Another little bit o' concept art from "Chrysalis." This was fun to draw. All those parts and crap hanging off. And yes, it's Viewfinder, the oft-cloned (in the cartoon at least) middle section of Reflector.
NEW GANG IN TOWN
A random doodle of Thrust birthed this series of sketches cranked out in about half an hour. I really, REALLY like these. I almost hate to DO inks of these... something about the sketches just seems so right. Yet I can envision a short comic on this theme so well.
SUNSPOT
#wiigii! inmate Trixter got me to do this TFU-style piece of her LONAC ("League On Non-Allied Cybertrons", I think) MUSH character Sunspot. I rarely pass up the chance to draw a female TF who isn't a stupid damn Seekerfemme or the like.
A BIG DADDY XMAS
Friend-o-mine Phil Zeman (of Altered States Magazine and BotCon TFMST collaborator/performer) asked me to do a Big Daddy illustration for a Christmas card, to send to his Transformer-fan friends. I was happy to oblige, because Big Daddy OWNS, mowfockas. Unfortunately, I didn't end up with the time I needed to do a full shading/highlighting job on the picture, a pity. But still. Give him a kiss.
CORRUPTION
Color-concept art for a slightly twisted recolor of a classic combiner team. Click the pic for the full story and pics.
