Probably against his better judgement, Jon aggreed. I got some writin-friends together, and we hammered out a hammy, amateurish MSTing of Transformers The Movie, which we presented live at '97.
People acually ENJOYED it, so we did it again (and with an improved script) at BC'98. People liked that one a lot too, despite the fact that we didn't have microphones this time.
Since the Movie was REALLY starting to grate on me, for '99 we switched formats to ripping open TF television episodes, and we're still doing it every year. People seem to dig it.
Here's the original scripts for these presentations (minus the '97 TFMST), read and enjoy. And if you attend BotCon, COME TO THE SHOW, DAMN YOU.
Transformers the MSTing 3 -- The Search for Spark
BotCon 1999
Now completely sick of the movie, we move on to slap around "Dark Voyage" from Beast Wars, and from the original cartoon series "Fire on the Mountain", "The God Gambit" and, gods help us, "Carnage in C-Minor". Phil Zeman and David "Hex, not Rob, dammit" Tashjian bring in some smoky, sexy passion to the proceedings.
Transformers the MSTing 4 -- A New Joke
BotCon 2000
Apparently, we haven't run out of dumb yet. "Victory" from Beast Wars, "Forbidden Fruit" from Beast Machines, "City of Steel" and "Dweller in the Depths" from the original series make us all cry. Rob and Doug return, this time loaded out of their minds.
Transformers the MSTing 5 -- The Foolish Frontier
BotCon 2001
When does the hurting stop? So-called "classic" cartoons "Aerial Assault" and "Dark Awakening" sit on our chests and dangle loogies while "Cutting Edge" from Beast Wars and "wolf in the Fold" from Beast Machines deliver purple nurples. Phil and Doug have to hold me and comfort me afterwards.
